MADISON, Wisconsin — The State of Wisconsin has formally approved Frank & Leo's 22-Week Warrior Foundation as a Wisconsin nonstock corporation, the first of many steps toward the ultimate goal of establishing a nonprofit organization.

The foundation received confirmation this week that its Articles of Incorporation have been approved by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, leaving the group officially established as an organized corporation.

The foundation spent months drafting its Articles of Incorporation from scratch, including the careful crafting of our organization's purpose, and is elated at the state's approval.

While becoming an incorporated organization doesn't change much from the perspective of our donors, volunteers or participants, it opens to door for the foundation to grow and expand our ability to fundraise and make charitable contributions.

Additionally, it's a necessary first-step toward applying for nonprofit status as a charitable organization with the Internal Revenue Service.
